He was wicked Abulkasem. She is mad Abulkasem. Don’t play the Abulkasem.
In a satirical comedy about the lives and identities of young Middle Easterns in Europe, ‘Invasion!’ assaults our deepest prejudices about identity, race and language, and asks the question: ‘Who or what is the mythical Abulkasem?’
Irreverent, funny and often deeply moving, ‘Invasion!’ calls into question the very nature of theatre. A sell-out in Stockholm for two years, it now comes to London in a new production directed by Lucy Kerbel, winner of the Young Angels Theatremakers Award.
Boundless Theatre (formerly Company of Angels) and Soho Theatre in association with The Junction, Cambridge.
First performed in the UK as part of Boundless Theatre’s Theatre Cafe Europe season 2007.
