And Now: The World!

24 Sept – 12 Nov 2015
Written by Sibylle Berg
Translated by Ben Knight
Directed by Abigail Graham

“We want to be supermodels or get on TV, because otherwise we’ll just sit at our computers anonymously hating each other.”

‘And Now: The World!’ is a story about being young in a digital world; about being a superhero caught in a web; about being able to spend more time with your friends online than face to face. If your whole life is online, can you start a revolution and stay #ontrend?

The internet is a world of possibilities, but what happens to humans when we get information overload and our interface points don’t overlap?

After the success of DEBRIS by Dennis Kelly at Southwark Playhouse, this will be OpenWorks Theatre’s second production. Boundless Theatre are delighted to be co-producing with OpenWorks, continuing our relationship with director Abigail Graham, one of the first ever recipients of our Young Angels’ Award.

Touring in autumn 2015, ‘And Now: The World!’ will visit theatres, colleges and community centres across the UK.

An OpenWorks and Boundless Theatre co-production in association with Derby Theatre.

★★★★ Advances in digital technology help many of us, particularly the young, to expand our social network. But the play has some serious things to say about the limitations of this. British Theatre Guide
★★★★★ ANTW by Sibylle Berg handles some of the most controversial topics affecting today’s society, with a dark humour that makes the modern world seem deeply tragicomical. Theupcoming.co.uk
