Help us take Blue Mist on tour!

We’re raising £7,500 to unlock a tour of Mohamed-Zain Dada’s Olivier Award-nominated Blue Mist in 2026 – and we can’t do it without you!

Blue Mist is the Olivier Award-nominated debut play by Mohamed-Zain Dada – a story about friendship, truth and ambition. It’s about young Muslim men carving out joy and identity in a country that too often misrepresents them. It’s about the spaces that hold people together and the laughter that comes from everyday moments in our communities. From the dramas at Jummah, to fillet-o-fish, to the absurdities of gym culture.

But it’s also about how the media wilfully misrepresents us, distorts our humanity and makes us out to be monsters.

Over June-July 2026, Blue Mist will tour to:

Alongside the tour, we’re working with young South Asian and Muslim creatives, giving them funding, training and support to put on their own creative events, celebrating and connecting their communities in connection with the show.

Why we’re crowdfunding

Touring has always been expensive, but right now it’s now harder than ever. Soaring costs and shrinking public funding mean fewer venues – especially outside London – can take risks on new work, and touring companies are being forced to scale back. These pressures hit underrepresented artists the hardest, as their work is already the least resourced and the first to be deprioritised.

We’re crowdfunding because this pot of support will act as match funding, meaning every pound you give helps us unlock further investment from funders and partners.

This campaign is the key that will open the door to a full national tour. Your support will help cover:

Why your support matters

Stories shape culture. And at a time of rising far-right radicalisation, with UK politicians and media fuelling fear, dehumanising refugees and Muslims, and distorting the realities of marginalised communities, Blue Mist pushes back with honesty, humour and care. It offers a narrative told from within, and both on and off-stage, offers representation in an industry that needs to make space for more Muslim creatives.

By donating, you’re helping us take this story to stages across the country. You’re helping young people see themselves represented authentically, and you’re helping us push back against harmful, Islamophobic media narratives.

If this story resonates with you, please donate today.

Every contribution gets us closer to unlocking the funding needed to make the tour a reality.
