Boundless Theatre

8 Feb – 24 Mar 2007
Written by John Retallack
Directed by John Retallack and Andy Howitt

Schools and families make the rules, they monitor and restrict – risks are assessed and lives protected as they do their best to keep young people safe.

‘Risk’ draws five stories from the voices and actions of a generation of these young people.

Personal safety is not at the top of their list. They are looking for excitement, even danger – ways to feel more alive.
Their stories burn with the intensity of risk-taking, captured on stage in an adrenalin rush of hip-hop, breakdance and street-dance.

‘Risk’ is about the decisions young people make as they walk the line between feeling alive and staying alive.

A macrobert production in association with Boundless Theatre, YDance and The Tron

“Don’t tell me what to do.
I’ll do what I like.
It’s my life, this is my life.”
